Visit 1: Turku university hospital, T-hospital
T-hospital is the newest part of the Turku university hospital. The new T-hospital contains all specialities which acute university hospital needs, for instance, departments for emergency, intensive care units, operating theatres, patient ward , X-ray, disinfection, oncology with four accelerators, laboratory, hyperbaric oxygen therapy etc. The T-hospital project started with the T1-hospital which was finished in 2003 and the second part of the T-hospital, called T2-hospital, was finished in 2012.

- 7 outpatient wards
- 13 inpatient wards, 309 beds
- 14 operating theatres
- 68 beds for intensive care and intensive monitoring

Visit to the new T building of the Turku university hospital in 3 groups
- Group 1: Architecture and premises
- Group 2: Electric systems
- Group 3: HPAC (heating, plumbing, air-conditioning) and automation systems
Bus transportation from Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel and from Original Sokos Hotel Hamburger Börs at 9.00. The tour will start with a joint introduction after which the 3 separate tours will take place. Duration in total approximately 3 hours. Lunch will be served after the tour. Bus transportation back to the hotels is arranged around 14.00.
Visit 2: Turku university hospital, Turku PET Centre
Turku PET centre is a high quality research centre for cancer, heart, brain and psychiatric diseases. PET Centre is owned by the Turku university hospital and two local universities: University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. PET centre has four Pet-cameras and one PET-CT. The centre has its´ own accelerator for making isotopes used in patient research. The size of the group for visitors is limited to 20 persons.
Bus transportation from Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel and from Original Sokos Hotel Hamburger Börs at 9.00. The tour will start with a joint introduction at the T-hospital after which the tour at the PET Centre will take place. Duration in total approximately 3 hours. Lunch will be served after the tour. Bus transportation back to the hotels is arranged around 14.00.
Visit 3: Paimio hospital
Paimio hospital was designed by the world famous architect Alvar Aalto. Paimio hospital was built in 1930-1933. It is known as Aalto’s masterpiece of functionalism and it is currently, in accordance with the World Heritage Convention, on the Finnish World Heritage Tentative List.
The hospital is situated 30 km from Turku and the area contains also several other buildings such as doctors house, row house for the staff etc. The gross area of the hospital is 20 000 m2. Nowadays the hospital is used mainly for rehabilitation and child welfare services supporting families with sick or disabled children or with mental and social problems. The organisation operating in Paimio hospital is the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare.
Bus transportation from Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel at 9.00. Lunch will be served after the tour. Return to Turku at 14.30, bus transportation is arranged.
